FDA bans import of GE salmon

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued an import alert on Jan. 28, stating that AquAdvantage salmon—an Atlantic salmon genetically engineered (GE) by AquaBounty Technologies—won’t be allowed to be sold until the agency publishes final labeling guidelines.
