Wegmans Recalls Bagged Frozen Spinach for Potential Listeria Contamination

Wegmans, a regional supermarket chain based in Gates, NY, has recalled 12-oz. bags of frozen spinach due to potential Listeria contamination. The company stated Saturday that its supplier, Twin City Foods Inc. of Stanwood, WA, had notified Wegmans of the possibility of contamination.

Listeria infection primarily affects older adults, pregnant women, newborns, and adults with weakened immune systems, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Symptoms can include fever, muscle aches, diarrhea or other gastrointestinal symptoms.
