FSIS Posts List of Outlets in WA, AK Where Recalled Whole Hogs Were Sent

USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has posted a distribution list of 74 retail and distribution outlets in Washington state and Alaska which received whole hogs from Kapowsin Meats of Graham, WA.

CDC has also reported that this particular strain of Salmonella is multi-drug resistant.

Kapowsin Meats recalled approximately 116,262 pounds of whole hogs for barbecue on Aug. 13, 2015, because of the potential for Salmonella contamination. They were produced on various dates between April 18 and July 27, 2015.

FSIS noted that the distribution list, posted Wednesday, Aug. 19, “may not include all retail locations that have received the recalled product or may include retail locations that did not actually receive the recalled product.”

As a result, members of the public is advised to use the product-specific identification information available here, in addition to the list of retail and distribution outlets, to check whether products in your possession have been recalled.

Nearly all the retail or distribution outlets listed are in Washington state, although nine are in Alaska. Two were walk-in customers whose addresses were not available, according to FSIS.
