"Snake's Eyes" Soup

An Elizabeth Andoh recipe from At Home with Japanese Cooking, which is no longer in print. She is an American who married intoto a Japanese farming family, graduated from a Japanese culinary school, and writes cookbooks which make Japanese home-style cooking accessible for American cooks. The soup's name comes from the curled-up shrimp resting at the bottom of each bowl.

Easy Kimchee Jigae

This is the easiest Kimchee Stew in the whole world. I found it on www.beyondkimchee.com. It is a delicious Korean kimchee and Spam Kimchee stew. I also add a 12.3 package of shelf stable extra firm Tofu, sometimes. According the recipe poster, the stew tastes better the next day, but it never lasts that long in my house. Serve with steamed rice. If using the tofu add 1/2 of it at a time with the Spam, cube both the tofu and Spam the same size.

Thai -Ish Cabbage Soup

Based on a Thai recipe for Thai Cabbage Roll Soup found here: http://jazzieandtahlia.typepad.com/my_weblog/2011/09/cabbage-roll-soup.html. Dashida is a Korean beef bouillon powder found in my local Oriental Market. I have a huge pouch of this stuff so I decided what the heck and it worked.

This is a copycat recipe for P.F. Chang's Oolong Chilean Sea Bass (Line-caught, tea-marinated filet broiled in sweet ginger-soy, over warm spinach). Time does not include marinating time.
