The United Nations’ food standards body adopted guidelines this week that set limits for levels of arsenic allowed in rice. The Codex Alimentarius Commission, which is jointly run by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization and the World Health Organization, said no more than 0.2 mg per kg of arsenic should be allowed in rice.
