Investigating retail price premiums for organic foods

An article published in Amber Waves, a publication of the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture’s Economic Research Service (USDA ERS), examines the prices of organic food from 2004 to 2010 and finds that all organic food products were more costly than their nonorganic counterparts and that the premium was more than 20% for all but spinach.
